Evaluating Narrative Therapy for Harm Reduction with Intimate Partner Violence
Dr. Gerald Monk, San Diego State University
This project will assess the therapeutic outcomse of Narrative Therapy interventions with men who have committed Intimate Partner Violence on their families, as well as providing services to their families. The recipient has chosen to defer the award for this year, but Shine A Light Narrative Therapy Research Fund continues to be committed to this project.

Narrative Therapy Intervention Project
for Patients with Diabetes and Depression
Dr Brian Lewis, University of Miami Counseling Psychology Program and University of Miami Miller School of Medicine
This project will conduct a pilot study of Narrative Therapy intervention designed to assist diabetes patients who are also experiencing elevated levels of psychological distress in their efforts to improve their health status.

Moving Narrative Ideas into Practice:
Preliminary Study of a Trauma Manual
Dr Christopher Erbes, University of Minnesota Medical School & Minneapolis VA Medical Center and Mr John Stillman, Kenwood Therapy Center, Minneapolis
Part of an evolving research program, this research outlines an open trial of a “Maps of Narrative Practice” manual being developed for narrative therapy with trauma survivors, based on the work of Michael White. The trial will take place at the Minneapolis VA Medical Center.
Narrative Therapy in Group Residential Care
Dr Sarah Chance & Mr Michael Mertz, Seneca Center, California
Part of an evolving research program, this research involves an assessment of a Narrative Therapy based groups program for adolescents in residential care who suffer from serious emotional disturbances.
